MATRON PORTER DRIVE RESERVE

Public BBQ

A well-kept reserve between Narrawallee Inlet and Narrawallee Beach, and one of the better picnic spots around Ulladulla. There is an impressive playground, a decent undercover barbecue area, clean public toilets, and plenty of tables and seats spread among the trees, with grass running all the way down to the sand. Three paths lead off: one past the playground to the boat ramp, one a short foreshore stroll to the beach, and a third along the edge of the inlet's mouth to the rocky headland - easy enough for children, though the end arrives without much of a view. Swimming works at both the beach and the inlet, and paddleboarding is popular. Parking is large but fills very quickly on a summer day, so arrive early. It takes some finding: turn off at the bottom of the hill.
